LL Cotter was admitted to the hospital on September 30th with aspiration pneumonia. He was placed on a ventilator on October 6th and we were told to be patient while his body healed. We were praying for quick healing and for the medicines to do their work.
A few weeks later, the doctors told us that his lungs were not responding, and we went almost overnight from “be patient” to “we are out of options”.
It was a really tough transition but one that deepened our commitment to prayer—although that prayer had been upgraded to “pulmonary miracle”.
Each day on the ventilator proved more and more challenging, and God ultimately decided it was Papa’s time on October 30th, exactly one month after this tough journey began. As mom, Leslie and I gathered around him last Friday, we prayed, sang, and shared all of the things we were grateful for about our amazing father and husband.
We will miss him like crazy.
